Meeting – ‘Elizabeth Garrett Anderson: First Female Physician’ – Tuesday 7th April 2015

Our meeting on Tuesday 7th April at 8pm in St. Saviour’s Church Hall sees Dr Sue Jennings presenting ‘Elizabeth Garrett Anderson: First Female Physician’. Elizabeth Garrett Anderson was a feminist who was the first Englishwoman to qualify as a physician and surgeon in Britain. She was an outstanding woman of her time as she was also a co-founder of the first hospital staffed by women, the first female doctor in France and as Mayor of Aldeburgh, the first female mayor and magistrate in Britain.

Commences 8pm at St Saviour’s Church Hall, DY9 0NS. Visitors £2, including refreshments. Annual membership £10
