Hagley Historical and Field Society

The Society’s Christmas Social was held on Tuesday December 4^th.  Members and their guests arrived to a sherry reception, which was followed by an excellent buffet provided by Jenny Aldridge Catering. Ken Price had provided a ‘warm up’ quiz at the beginning of the evening but, following the meal, moved to his ‘magnum opus’ – three rounds of most taxing questions to be answered by each table as a team. All entered into this demanding activity most enthusiastically and the eventual winners were the Chairman’s team.  Despite cries of ‘fixed’ and ‘cheats’, the quizmaster’s decision was final and the team duly accepted their prize.

 At the end of a most enjoyable evening the Chairman, Joan Ryder, wished everyone a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year and Vice Chair, Ray Porter, thanked all who had made the evening such a success, particularly Margaret Rorison for overall organisation, Joan Barwick for the raffle and Ken Price for his entertaining quiz.
