Neolithic axehead found in Hagley

Neolithic Axe Head

Description from Archsearch

A Neolithic axehead, described as basalt, was found in 1892 on the ground in front of a field gate on the west side of the Worcester road about 88 yards south of the Station-road crossing. It presumably came from the adjacent field. It was given to Worcester County Museum by the finder, TC Cantrill.

Churchill Forge

Churchill Forge water mill was one of the last working water powered forge mills in Britain, and was until the early 1970s producing metal tools such as spades, shovels and ladles. As such it is an important example of the industrial history and, to ensure that it is not lost to future generations is now being restored as a working museum. The forge is opened to the public at selected days through the summer when visitors can see water wheels turning.

For a list of open days visit Churchill Forge Website
