Elizabeth Garrett Anderson was a feminist who was the first Englishwoman to qualify as a physician and surgeon in Britain. She was an outstanding woman of her time as she was also a co-founder of the first hospital staffed by women, the first female doctor in France and as Mayor of Aldeburgh, the first female mayor and magistrate in Britain.<\/p>\n<p>Commences 8pm at St Saviour\u2019s Church Hall, DY9 0NS.
