August 4th, 2013 by JAtkinson

A Robert Deeley Fund Subsidised Event

The first event held by the Society was a coach trip to Buildwas Abbey on Saturday 28th September 1963.  It was repeated 25 years later in July 1988 and now again, after exactly 50 years.

Our coach leaves Webbs Garden Centre at 10.00am and the village car park at 10.05am.  First stop is Buildwas Abbey where Eric Greenwood will give us a guided tour.  We then move to the Gaskell Arms, Much Wenlock, for a 2-course buffet lunch with tea or coffee.

Afterwards we walk to Wenlock Priory for another guided tour.  There will be free time to explore the Museum, Guildhall or tea shops before returning to Hagley for about 5.15pm.

The cost for members of the Society is £23, subsidised from the Robert Deeley Fund,  and non-members pay £28.  Coach fare, entrance fees, lunch and tips are included.  There is a reduction of £5 for members of English Heritage.  Car parking has been arranged at Webbs Garden Centre at a cost of £1 per car, to be collected on the day.
